Day 1

Finally, finally finished one sketch. I have a little over two more months and like a million more pages to fill. whoops. At least I finished one! :)

This is my attempt to be artistic and to stick to deadlines. The goal is to sketch at least something everyday until January 15, 2011. Why am I doing this? Because it seemed like something I could distract myself from thinking about the billion and one other things I feel unnecessarily stressed about, and perhaps, something that could be a personal adventure for the right side of my brain.
Today, I received the 5.5x8.5 inch Moleskine Cahier sketchbook and now I’m thinking about how I want to actually organize this all. My theme is a rather vague, loosely interpreted and intimidating one…“…you’d be home by now”
What does that theme even mean really? Am I supposed to complete the lines leading up to the ellipsis? “if you left earlier, you’d be home by now” “if only you traveled the world, you’d be home by now” “wherever you are, you’d be home by now”
I suppose that’s what the whole journal is all about. Trying to figure that out. My thought was simply that my contributions would be travelogues of sorts. I will bring it wherever I travel and I will sketch, write, create, whatever.
I’ll be updating (I promise myself and you) this every time I complete at least ONE PAGE of the EIGHTY pages (front and back pages counted separately) in this sketchbook. follow me. & start one of your own.
and now for the song of the day which I discovered in the car and could not stop repeating:
Evaporar // Little Joy
